Why We’re Going to Bear Valley

For a long time, the idea of ministry has been something Hunter has kept coming back to. Through different seasons of life, the desire to preach, teach, study Scripture, and serve others has never completely gone away. Over the years, that desire has become harder to dismiss and increasingly clear as Hunter has begun teaching more classes and serving as a deacon, as something we want to pursue full-time as a family.

That's what brings us to Bear Valley.

Bear Valley Bible Institute will give Hunter the opportunity to spend the next two years focused on Scripture and practical ministry training. He'll be learning from experienced teachers, developing his skills in preaching and teaching, and gaining experience that we hope will prepare him for a lifetime of serving the church. For us, this isn't simply about going back to school. It's about taking a meaningful step toward the kind of life we believe we're being called to pursue.

We know that two years at Bear Valley won't answer every question about what comes next. We don't know where Hunter will ultimately serve or exactly what ministry will look like for our family. But we believe that becoming better equipped to serve is worth the time, sacrifice, and change that this season requires. So, we're packing up our life in Oklahoma and heading to Colorado.

We're excited, and a little overwhelmed, by everything that has to happen between now and then, and incredibly grateful for the people who are helping us get there.
